I'm still figuring out who I am and who God wants me to be, but here's a small window into my world:
I am a Christian - a disciple of Christ. My ultimate identity comes from Him and is found in Him. I hope that on my path, in the decisions I make, each step will take me closer to becoming more like my Savior.
I am a husband. I love my wife more every day because I discover more about her every day. I couldn't have hoped to share my life with a more amazing woman.
I am a father. The only thing that outweighs the responsibility of raising my four crazy children is the unbelievable joy that they bring me every single day. Quick fact: Only 3 years, 3 months separate the oldest from the youngest.
I am a pastor. It's been a crazy ride getting here. After spending years "kicking against the goads" so to speak, I finally answered the call God placed on my life. I am thrilled to be serving as the Connections Pastor at Element Church in Pittsburgh, PA. Outside of my salvation, marriage, and the birth of my children, being a part of this church has been the most revolutionary change in my life.
This blog began as a creative outlet for my renewed passion for God. In my excitement, I wanted to create a place where I could really get my thoughts out on "paper" while still sharing them with others. I had no illusions of grandeur; no thoughts of becoming the next "it" blogger. I simply wanted to throw my ideas out there (hence the name Into the Ether). I now have a clearer picture of how I want to use this medium and who I want to reach. My hope is that you will read this blog and always be able to take something away for yourself, whether it's a "teaching" post, a humorous post, or just a random thought that I share. And don't stop at reading. Leave a comment or two to open up the conversation. I always love to hear others' ideas and feedback.
Thanks for reading!
